DBS Takashimaya Card: Our Verdict

So, are the DBS Takayama Visa Card and DBS Takashimaya American Express Card worth signing up for? Well, with so many amazing Takashimaya Bonus Points up for grabs, huge potential to accumulate voucher rebates and tons of other in store perks available, we think this credit card is a great option for anyone who likes to spend regularly at Takashimaya stores either here in Singapore or overseas.

That said, if you think you’re unlikely to hit those minimum charge and min spend limits, or you don’t spend too much time shopping at Takashimaya Department Store, you might do better to consider other Visa card, debit card and American Express cards instead, as well as alternative financial products such as personal and home loans, that might better suit your needs. Check out our comparison table above if you’d like to find an alternative card with more favourable minimum monthly payment or annual income requirements – or if you need other services like a cash advance or longer fee waivers.

DBS Takashimaya Card FAQs

With most DBS credit cards, every time a qualifying minimum charge is made to your card, you will earn DBS bonus points which can be exchanged for various rewards and discounts. That said, the DBS Takashimaya Card is not currently eligible for the standard DBS Points Redemption Programme – customers instead get the Takashimaya-based perks we have reviewed in this article.

With the Takashimaya credit card, you can earn 2 Takashimaya bonus points with every $12 charged to your Visa Card, or with every $10 charged to any DBS Takashimaya American Express cards.

Transactions that don’t meet the $12 and/or $10 limits will not incur bonus points.

You can exchange your bonus points for Takashimaya Gift Vouchers. For most customers, every 100 bonus points will earn you $30 worth of Takashimaya gift vouchers. That said, if you’re a DBS Takashimaya Amex card member, every 300 Takashimaya bonus points will get you $90 worth of Takashimaya Gift Vouchers in addition to this.

If you’re visiting a Takashimaya department store enjoy complimentary delivery service whenever you spend over $100. Just keep in mind that during 10% promotion days, this min spend limit rises to $200.

You can quickly and easily track how many bonus points you have accumulated using the DBS PayLah app. Simply log in, click the Takashimaya icon and visit your “Takashimaya Bonus Points” summary page. If you’ve built up enough points, you can redeem them using the app to later spend in store.
