Our Verdict on Citi Prestige Card
Citi Prestige Card is not for the occasional budget traveler. But for individuals who make frequent trips overseas, it is worth considering. One way to decide is to review how much you typically spend and find the right balance to maximize your air miles.

Citi Prestige, on the other hand, is has a more expensive annual fee. Nonetheless, its perks and benefits are among the best on the market.
If you feel that Citi Prestige Card is not enough, then the best travel card for you is Standard Chartered Visa Infinite. For a little better perks and rewards, though, you do have to pay a higher annual fee.

How do you earn Citi ThankYou points?
Earning points (or air miles) is easy. All you need to do is to charge purchases to your Prestige card. However, these transactions need to qualify as eligible purchases. Also, note that you may need to book flights and hotel accommodation through the Citi Prestige Concierge to earn points.
Another way to earn points is to make payments using Citi PayAll Android or iOS app. Apart from earning miles, you may also receive cashback. Eligible transactions include but most certainly are not limited to:
- Taxes such as income, property, and others
- Insurance premiums
- Rental deposits and monthly payments
- Education expenses such as tuition and other school fees
How are ThankYou points calculated?
Generally, you round down the transaction amount to the nearest S$1, multiply it by 3.25% (local) or 5% (overseas), then round to the nearest whole number.
Awarding points for every S$1 matters because many other banks give points every S$5. In essence, you lose fewer points this way. Take S$9.99 as an example. You earn 11.6 miles instead of only 6 miles.
